Hypothyroidism

My PCP has me taking Synthroid after blood tests showed I have hypothyroidism.  In the past month since I started taking the meds.. I notice that my resting heart rate has risen from about 43 bpm to about 60 bpm. I also am not cold all the time.

Do any of you guys have any experiences or knowledge to share about the condition?

I have it and on meds.  Life long process.  My heart rate is a little high but acceptable.  Pressure is great.  I dont feel like skipping down the road, but feel more active

 Hypothyroidism is a condition you and my 19 yr old daughter share. Her resting heart rate also went up. Being cold is one of the symtoms of that condition. My thyroid was a little low, so the Dr tried putting me on it, but I stopped sleeping so stopped taking it. Mine was only borderline any way. Good luck!

I was placed on synthroid 3 months prior to having surgery.  I would fight my endocrinologist to high heaven if she tried to take my off that med.  I have never felt better once I was diagnosed and placed on medication.  I quit being cold once menopause hit, so I can't help you on that one.  However I used to live with constant low-level depression.  Synthroid has completely and totally eliminated that symptom.  I have also seen a change in my hair and skin.
