I'm back
Been gone for a while, but now I am back. Went trekking through Nepal and India for a month, and have been trying to get caught up here at the inn. First time I ever went on a trip and lost weight! That was in spite of breaking probably every rule there is. I didn't have much choice, though. I ate what there was, drank a lot of water, and brought some protien powder in case. Came through with flying colors, except for a twisted knee. I am now only 2 lb. from dr.'s goal, 7 lb. from mine, and live is great!
Was your trekking for pleasure or part of a job? I've a nephew who went to Peru for fun hiking, biking, and ice climbing. His father is currently in Mexico on a prep vacation; next Spring he's taking a sabbatical from Rutgers and he's going to work for a university down there.
Where's the inn you work at? Do you own it?

The trekking was strictly for masochistic pleasure. It was something I wouldn't have dreamed of doing a year ago, before surgery. With all of the weight I lost, my energy level was through the roof, and I needed an adventure. I am already planning another trek next year, through Rwanda to experience the gorillas. I do own my own small inn, the Chapman Inn in Bethel, Maine. I retired 14 years ago, and decided I was too young to sit and rock, so we bought the inn to give us a reason to get out of bed in the morning.
