I have just a few more pre-op requirements. Have to see the NUT and go to one more group meeting. Meanwhile my insurance came through and I'm now covered as of jul 1st. The doc will have to submit for approval and then that would be it unless the doctor wants me to lose more weight.

This is fantastic news!  As I recall, you were previously considering having WLS as a self=pay despite having a few teenagers.  What does one have to do with the other?  How about funding for college?  Well, now that's not part of the equation.  Now you can look forward to the whole process with more confidence.

I know that I wish that WLS were more widely available about 30 years ago when I was just obese (just?) or simply morbidly obese.  I didn't have my RNY until I was super morbidly obese with a BMI in the mid 80s.  I was a high risk patient and practically had to beg the docs for the surgery.  I'm thankful that they did it because all of my docs agree that I probably would have died withing 2 years had I not had it done.  I'm just saying that you should seize this opportunity before you gain more weight and/or your health gets worse.

Good luck and keep us informed as you continue your WLS journey.
