Hitting the weights
Guys,
I'm about two and a half weeks out and feelin' pretty darn good.
I've been doing a ton of walking and some slow easy biking.
I'm dying to get back to the gym and start hitting some nice easy weights. Nothing hardcore, just want to start stretching things out a little.
I go back for my one month check up on 7/15. I don't know if I can wait that long. What do u guys think?
AND, will this slow down my weight loss. I don't want to go through that mind screw. I know muscle weighs more then fat, etc. But the fast loss I get from training, would be faster then any muscle growth.
I'm also afraid my appetite is gonna kick in. I can walk miles and bike miles, and my appetite doesn't increase, but put me in the gym lifting, and it did in the past.

I know where you are comming from but hold off on the weights. Most surgeons will say 6 weeks. I say 8. I started really easy at 6 weeks and by 8 weeks I was doing some light to moderate weight. I still ended up with an incisonal hernia.
You have the rest of your life to lift and be healthy. Give it some time to heal.

Stay away from the weights for now, the only thing you will lose is muscle. There is no way you will be able to get in enough protein to rebuild what you tear down by lifting. The next problem will be with the loss of that muscle you will have less of it to burn calories in the future.
Stick to walking for the first couple of months, the heavy workouts are counterproductive.
