Pancreas
I've been reading posts on OH since July 2000 and this is the first time that I've ever heard of this problem. What that means to me is that the problem is not associated with the gastric bypass. However, you are lucky in that you are actively seeing doctors and that they have detected the mass. I assume they are doing a biopsy and will be able to treat it whether it is cancerous or benign. I know that pancreatic cancer can be fatal if not detected in the early stages. I don't know what sort of treatments are available in you area. I have a friend who was diagnosed with prostate cancer ( I know it's not the same thing) and he had it removed using Cyber Knife where the cancer is targeted and removed by laser--no cutting involved. He only needed one week of radiation therapy after that. He just went back for his one year anniversary and is still cancer free.
I mention all of this because the mere detection is scary, but there is hope with the advances in medical treatments.
