Introducing Myself

Hello All,

So I figured it was about time that I introduce myself. My name is Jonathan, and I have been lurking on the boards for the past month or so.

I am in the process of going through all the appointments right now. My next appointment actually is on July  9th, where I finally get my Ultra Sound and Upper GI. Then on the 14th, i Get in to talk with the Social Worker and the Nutritionist.

I started this process back in Early May, and the first few weeks went by so fast,  I saw my dr, two weeks later, got my intake at the windsor clinic, day after that I did my blood work, and the next week I got my appointment for the sleep apnea clinic. Then  things appeared to just stop. and it took me FOREVER to get my appointment for the Ultra Sound and Upper GI. There were times when I just got totally discouraged, and I was constantly thinking about why was the first few weeks so busy and all my appointments were bang bang bang. then nothing.

Then I found this board and realizzed that what I have been going through is nothing compared to what some of you have gone through. I just need to relax and let things happen, and not be in such a rush.

Now a little about me.

I am a 25 year old male, who is going into my last year of Social Work at the University of Windsor. I moved to Windsor two years ago from British Columbia to finish my degree, and have suprisingly found an amazing support network here and some even more amazing friends.

When I started this journey i was hoping to have the surgery sometime in the summer, but I realized that goal was a little to far fetched. I will most likely have my surgery sometime during the school year, so that is going to be a challenge.

Anyways, enough of my rambling, I just wanted to take this time to introduce myself, and step out from the lurking shadows.

I look forward to getting to know some of you!

Thanks for posting.  I think I wasn't aware that I had a weight problem until I was in my ealy 30s and this just wasn't a option back then.  I had my first RNY on 11-14-200 and my revision (due to a staple line disruption) on 01-21-05),  I know it's rare to have had 2 RNYs.  I weighed 571 when I had the first one and about 422 for the second..  I weigh about 357 now due to a chronic problem with food addiction.  It's often mentioned here that the surgery fixes your stomach and not your brain.  I offer myself as a bad example, but I wouldn't be alive today had I not had the surgeries.

I can relate to you as a man, but I hope that a lot more younger men will contact you.  I have a nephew who is 32 and his "baby" brother is 22.  I just turned 60 this year.

Still post here and post often.  Look at the histories of some of the men by linking to their profiles by clicking on their user names under their pictures or lack thereof.  I don't know how to upload pictures.  I mean, I don't even know how to scan a picture.  Have your laughs guys.  I don't even try these new tech things anymore.  That's just me and it has only a little to do with my age.
