Protein intake ???

I am joining a gym today. Figure if i am going to be off work i am going to benifit from it.

So my question. How much protein should i be taking in before and after a work out.  Also can someone give me an example of what a 100-125g protein day is and if not a lot of trouble the portion sizes too.

protein b4 won't help ... as stated above carbs pre and protein/carbs post for gaining/keeping muscle.

I use isopure low carb protein powder. 3 scoops in 24 ounces of water with a packet of diet hot chocolate mix is 325 cals 52g of protein and 20 complex carbs and 3g of sugar. I do this twice a day plus my food intake.
    No longer about weight , it's all about living.

lol, I am so tired of powders.. I still drink them but it's hard.   maybe i'll go buy some Metrx bars. I really like those.
