Protein and Level of Exercise?
For those who are post WLS what is/was your Protein goal after WLS? did it change over time?
Also, what level of exercise do you do? I am planning on the 3-4 times a week at 40 minutes plus being more active in other things that I do. Will this be enough? My goal is to get to the best weight and overall fitness level for me, but I am worried I might not plan to do enough.

I'm 3 weeks post-op tomorrow. Long-term goal is +75g/day. For the first month, the Dr/Nut have told me not to worry about it. Aim for fluids and protein and try and get as much as you can. I'm on restricted exercise for for 6 weeks, so I'm walking about 3 miles/day broken throughout the day (taking the dog out, going around the block, etc.). I'm ready to start swimming and playing hockey again.
There is no such thing as too much exercise. I'm already down 30lbs and can't wait to do more and more.
From my perspective, exercise is important for good health, but I think its more about eating right and controling portions. I've always been an active person and I feel like that issue will solve itself as I lose the weight and its easier on my body.
Although I haven't been active, many men enjoy doing activities with members of their families. I know one man down in FL who was thrilled when he was finally able to play one-on-one basketball with his teenaged son. He liked it even more when he bagan to win. Most men say that the best exercise is walking. If you can handle it, I'd also suggest bicycling. You get to create your own breeze in warm weather.
Maybe you should post your questions about exercise on the fitness and exercise forum. I don't know how active your kids want to be with you, but I'd think they'd enjoy spending some time with you doing any activity. You can tell I don't have kids.

Nice to see another patient of Dr. A on here!
Will you be at support group next Monday? I'll give you my program then, but for now I'll give it here.
I'm 2-1/2 years out. I workout 5-6 days a week and run 15-20 miles a week also. Right after surgery you should strive for 70-80 protein. Right now with my workout routine I should be getting in 110-125 but I can never make it. I know I need to, to build mass. As you go along I'd be happy to help you whenever you want.
