6 week post RNY update

So yesterday, Memorial Day was my 6 week mark.  I feel great!

I'm down 50 lbs from my high weight.  I've dropped 2 shirt sizes, 2 pant sizes, and people at work and friends are really starting to notice.  I get comments like, "there is something different about you.  Did you get a hair cut?"  My reply is generally, "oh I got em all cut plus some!"

Greater for me than the weight loss is the health FARTs...No Diabetes Medicine and blood sugar consistently between 88 - 94.  Dr took me off my diuretic that I've been on for over 20 years for high blood pressure.  He is also weening me off the other BP med.  I'm now down to 1/2 pill in the Morning and 1/2 at night.  BP has consistently been low 120's / mid 70's.  No More Sleep Apnea and No More CPAP!!!  I really hated that machine and mask!

My wife and I got new bikes for Mother's/Father's day.  We are riding about 4-5 miles and loving it.  On days we don't ride, I have a 2.8 mile course I am now jogging!  My goal is to do a 5 or 10K in the Fall.

I'm still getting used to eating small amounts, chewing well and slowly.  When I eat too fast or take too big a bite, I know it.  I've had a few things get "stuck" and had to throw-up to get it cleared.

Having this surgery was one of the top 5 things I've done in my life.  #1 is my relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ, #2 my soul mate and love of my life, my wife of 30 years, who is my biggest supporter through this WLS journey; #'s 3 are my Sons and their wives, #4 is my Grandson, and #5 my surgery so I can be healthy and live a long and happy life will all of them!  Life is Good!  I thank God I was able to have this surgery and have had such a great recovery!
Eating junk food and CRAP is not a reward...it's a punishment...
it's a DEATH sentence...Reward yourself with Good Health!
