Update on my situation....

Started at 440. Lost 10 before my consult and weiged in at 430.5. Down to 422 today at my meeting with the NUT. That went well and I now have an offical diet plan to follow while I finish all the pre-op stuff. In my case two major hold ups are no insurance and my appointments with Radiology and the Cardiactric Doctor. My surgeon says that can take a while. MEanwhile I'll kleep preparing. My near term wieght goal is to get below 400 before surgery, so 390 is that number.

Things I am finding very helpful....

Taking the time to taste my meals

It sounds like your head is in the right place and you seem to be doing the right things. Just do it one day at a time. Good Luck.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I dont have to explain too much about how I feel I guess we are all in the same boat or were anyway. It may sound corny but losing weight was never a challenge I couldn't handle. Keeping it off is where I have failed over and over. To the point that I had given up. I think I am ready now to move ahead.

Had a ton of questions for the NUT about some of the things I have heard and seen. I think I'm heading in the right direction. So on to the cardiologist in a few weeks...Pysch next week and Upper GI... Filling our new insurance paperwork now...

Keeping it off is where we have all failed.  That is why we are here.  Great job on the weight loss, keep it up.  Excercise/walk as much as you can pre-op.  I truly believe the healthier, more active you are pre-op, the easier and faster you will heal post-op.
