Attend First Group Last Night
Went to first group lasdt night. It was great to already know a bunch from reviewing old posts. The room was packed and very emotional. Lots of stories both bad and good. One question I didn't get to as those who are post op is how they keep their water intake up?
Well off to get my gallbladder checked via ultrasound this morning and my first round of blood tests.

Howdy Crispydude, and welcome to the MF ..
Can you give us a bit more specifics, as way of intro? Who is your prospective surgeon and type of surgery? Where was this group support meeting, and was it sponsored by a particular surgeon or was it a local "general" group of WLSers?
For me, liquid intake was not a problem during my first few months, as it went down a lot easier than solid foods at that time .. I usually drank it in the form of sugar-free Hawaiian Punch (the type that comes in those big red gallon jugs) .. It contained some electrolytes and fruit nutrients, which plain water didn't. Also, for some reason I couldn't stand the taste of plain tap water and most bottled water during that period. Many post-ops can't, b/c we are very sensitive to the chemicals in things we eat and drink, if we can smell or taste them. That chlorine smell and taste was horrible.

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "
HW/461 LW/251 GW/189 CW/274 (yep, a DS semi-failure - it happens :-( )
Surely Batman!
I'm out of CT so I chose Dr. Aranow as my surgeon. Looks like an open RNY. Part of his program is to attend support group meetings. They are not his per se, but they are held at the Hospital (Middlesex) he practices at.
Todays progress- First round of blodd taken, ultrasound complete, Dietician & Psych appointments are set. Meanwhile I am trying to lose weight before surgery and looking for Helath Insurance to cover.....
