have you guys had lipo after lap band?
the fatty areas around my waist and belly just won't go away and i'm in the gym like some dude in the county jail.. i need to see more results now!.. six months of lifting and cardio no weight loss but lost a few inches.. i am increasing my protein as we speak but hell for a couple of grand and a passport i can fly to the DR and get this handled in a weekend..
OK, I'm gonna takes some hits for this but here goes anyways,......
Lipo is to suck fat tissue out. Abdo-plasty is to remove loose skin deflated by rapid weight loss.
If you need lipo, you have weight to lose that maybe isn't coming off as fast as you want?
Working out tones, tightens, rearranges and even builds muscle depending on what you are doing and how much. You can lose inches and maintain or even gain weight if you are getting harder and building (calorie burning ) muscle mass. So at some pont post-op; the waist line has to drive the boat instead what the scale say. Note: I have doen so many situps and crunches most of my life that my upper stomach is larger than my pecs whch gives me a boxy or squared looking abdomin ( I have since learned better excercises to tighten my lower stomach and still working on a improved wasitline even 184 lbs less than my pre-op max of 408).
Even with lap-band or gastric bypass (which I had; RNY), the old calorie count is still valid,...you have to burn more than you take in. I have even learned that too much healthy food (grains, proteins, etc) can keep the weight on or even cause gain, if I take in more than I am using up. Harsh reality. You have to get in your daily water to keep the kidneys flushed and move that burned fat cell waste out of your system or your liver and kindeys can get clogged up with toxins and waste that can cause stones and other bad things to develop.
So my point,...if youreally need lipo, you got fat to lose and maybe not the patience or control to cut back more than you already have or make better choices. From you home page profiles and info, you have done really well and look healthy. I think you can be successful without the lipo but hey,...its your choice, money and body. But if it were me, I'd save the money for the tummy tuck abdoplasty thing you'll need after successfully losing the weight you want to get rid of the excess flabby skin (if you even need that) and that will get you more the results I think you seek.
Go forth and conquer dude.
