Six month post op
I saw a doctor and nutritionist at the bariatric department of the Cleveland Clinic today for my six month post op eval.
Although I weighed 227 naked at home... The clinic's scale said I weigh 228.5 (clothed).
Officially I lost 99.5 lbs since my surgery.
BP was 121/61
Doc says labs show Iron and vitamin D deficiencies.
I get to stop taking the following pills.
Ursodiol (for gall bladder only six months after surgery),
Tums - (instead I'll take calcium citrate with Vit D)
Metoprolol- I will only take one pill a day for blood pressure instead of two I have been taking.
I will also start taking a vitamin D supplement.
I asked doctor how much I should weigh. She said the charts say my BMI should be 25.. which would put me at 189 lbs.
But she believes I'd be fine at a BMI of 27.. That would be about 204 lbs for me . (I'm 6' 1")
I showed the nutritionist my food journal and told her I was averaging more than 100 g of protein per day, 20g of carbs, and 15 g of fat. About 660 calories. She says just keep on eating the same way I have been. I'm doing just fine.
