I'm DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish I had lost 100 lbs in six months. I thing you're doing great. I too started rapidly slowing down my weight loss at six months, even though I ate only 660 calories per day. I don't know why. But I just keep on going. I'll keep losing. Good luck to you.

Dude!!! You are so far from done. Just going through a plateau. I too felt like you many times over. We both started out at around the same weight. 24 months later, I have made it to 180ish. You WILL get there. Stay the course. Follow your doctors orders and discuss your eating plan with you nutritionist. I recall stalling out many times throughout the 24 months postop period. You will lose slower over time but thats normal as your metabolism slows and your body shrinks and yoiu eventually increase your food volume. Remember, weight loss is proportional. A 440 lb man will lose more and faster than a 300 lb man. Vary up your diet, keep drinking, and keep the workouts going. This won't be your last plateau, just hang in there. It will pass and the weight will start to drop again. Congrats on your success. 100 lbs in 6 months is nothing to sneeze at.

Maybe the scale is stuck but you say you are working out. Are your clothes fitting the same or getting bigger ? I thought I hit a wall about the same time as you but droppep 2 pants sizes and a shirt size while the scale was "stuck" ...... HANG IN THERE ! Your not even close to being done.
No longer about weight , it's all about living.
AGAIN ALL THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2day I was wearing some pants that I brought last month and they where a 44 and I forgot my belt well all I have to say is I thougth I was wearing my old 50's all day cause they where falling and falling. So I must be loosing inches so YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am happy again.....
Definintely don't give up! As some have said, plateus happen. I had one that lasted 6 weeks and drove me literally insane. But i'm now at 11 months post op and at my personal goal. The weightloss will come around again....trust. Keep doing what you're supposed to do and it will pick up again. Good luck to you, you'll look back on this post in a couple of months and be so thankful you kept at it!

I keep thinking about your post. From what I've learned, your pouch starts out as the size of a thumb and grows to the size of a fist within 6 mos of RNY. Then it is at its new size and stops growing.
The fact that you have been stuck at not losing for 2 months IS an indication that something is wrong with your post-op routine. There is no need for panic. I suspect that you may be eating too few calories and your body is fighting against starvation. You should be eating between 1,400 and 1,600 cal daily (800-1,200 for a woman), If you are eating less than this, you body will try to hold on to every cal you give it,. At 5 years post op, I was able to lose 50 lbs last year by staying on a 1,600 cal diet. I tried going lower but just couldn't do it.
Check with a nutritionist or pose a question on the Men's Forum about the amount of protein you should have. In order to get more than 60-80g of protein daily, I have to use the protein shakes. My wife gets my 5 lb resealable bags at Walmart and they taste ok. I've always used vanilla and vary the flavor by adding DaVinciGourmet sugar free and fat free syrups. They come in 45 flavors and I get most of mine from www.netrition.com but they are available at many online stores. Sam's club carries about 6-9 flavors which are mostly good for flavoring coffee--they don't carry the fruit flavors. Just be sure that you order the sugar free and fat free ones (SF/FF) since they also make all of the flavors with sugar. The SF/FF ones are sweetened with Splenda.
