Hormone Issues

Ok, it hasn't been four months yet, but, it is getting close.

A couple of posts I have read in the mens forum mention "four month hormone dump". First I have heard about it.

Does this mean we get depressed / crotichy / something else?

I am not depressed, but, I sure am crotichy / quick fused. Is it more that I am getting older (you kids get out of my yard!), or, is it related to the WLS?

Please give me a definition of the four month hormone dump and what I should look out for.

Cheers!

ESTROGEN!!  Yes you have some...No much, but it's stored in your fat cells.  As men drop the weight, the estrogen gets released...Sometimes they become very emotional...WLS men who have never been really emotional in their lives, all of a sudden get that way...and have no ideal what is going on.  They think they're falling apart...Men's PMS!!  But it passes as your weight starts to stablize.  Just be aware.

Like Brian says its PMS.  I like to say it is PMS x 10!  Angry at the slightest things.  Depression can come on like a mofo.  Your sig other can look at you funny and start a knock down drag out.  The temptation to rip somebodies head off and **** down their neck is strong.  You'll be a general pain in the ass to everybody in your world till it passes and it will with time.  I won't elaborate till later but I got documentation today that I'm "normal"!
**** I'm gettin' flashbacks!

All BS aside:  If it starts getting out in front of you - GET HELP!  No shame in your game to see a therapist/counselor/priest/preacher/rabbi etc.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

I don't remember at what point is was but I experienced the same thing. I had a real low tolerance for stupidity. The real problem is/was I seem to work with a lot of stupid people! Luckily we all lived through it and  I still have a job. Take a deep breath, go for a walk, count to ten.

I actually told my wife what was going on so she would understand when I was being hard ass. I find I am more honest with my wife now and will tell her what I really think. This kind of started during this same time. She would ask me a question or want my opinion on something or worse yet, do some thing stupid and all of a sudden I would be telling her what I thought.

I try to go back to the old saying that you can't listen yourself into trouble, but you can talk your self into it!

Thanks, I thought I was going crazy.  My biggest fear prior to surgery was aggression returning.  I had an incident on the road where a woman cut me off.  I'm probably going to have a photo radar ticket in the mail soon.  Not pretty and I felt terrible afterwards.
