New poster, just had surgery few questions
I've been member here sometime, a lurker if you will. I just had my surgery three weeks ago so far not having any problems. I lost 26 pounds in first two weeks and weigh in again next week when it becomes full month after surgery. I got a few questions though...
First off, I am 6'6 I topped in at 505 pounds down to 440 now because lost weight before surgery.
My concern is excess skin right now. I know I am going to have it, but I really have no idea how much skin we are talking about here. I can already feel where I am getting a little bit. I read about it, but I really don't know what to expect. As in, will a tummy tuck be needed for certain? People have told me the skin issue isn't as bad for a man as it is a woman. I don't know if there is any truth in that though.
Also I got divorced after five years of marriage a year ago. I been putting off getting into any form of serious relationship until I got the surgery took care of (Among other things). Now that I have had it I am going to ask the very blunt question to those who apply.... Did the weight loss make "That" much difference in your dating social life. By that I mean did more options become available to you that you would not have had pre-op. I'm single so you know getting back out there is big thing to me :)
I guess that pretty much sums it up for now. Any help would be great!

First off congrats on your surgery and the weight loss so far. As for the skin it hasn't been very bad for me yet. I am down 146 lbs and I don't notice much yet. I wear compression shirts to help with what I have so far. They really help when you start working out. I haven't thought much about the skin because it was worse when the skin was full. To me it will ba a nice trade no matter how much I have. I can't help with the single life ...14 years married.
No longer about weight , it's all about living.
Loose skin is pretty much an individual thing. It varies from person to person.
As far as how people treat you, yes in my experience people, "women", will treat you different. I am married but I have noticed a difference. I get smiles and looks I never got before. I have more confidence now and I maybe I carry my self different with out knowing it.
I am at three years out and I will tell you I didn't have a clue how much it would change my life. O would do it again in a heart beat. It has the single best thing I ever did for my self.

Thanks everyone for replies so far. I actually live right next door to ya above poster in Ashland! I am really happy though so far with what I have seen. Its an amazing thing to be able to see yourself literally change so quickly. I am going tuesday to weigh in again, very excited as this my only second time hitting the scales.
I got a pretty big belly on me and looking at it already pretty sure I am going to have a skin issue. I guess though that can always be removed if push comes to shove! I just hear Tummy Tuck is harder on ya than Gastric Bypass.
