What's up with the mens board sucking balls lately?

I was trying to recall the stats on this, since you asked ..   They were shown at an OH main event I attended some time back ..   IIRC, the % of WLSers that are M was under 20% in a recent year.

Kinda odd, I know ..  We've posted and talked about the big disparity between M and F WLSers on here before ..  The difference may be largely due to a double standard that we have in the U.S. re:   fat ..   It's O.K. for a guy to be fat (or even a bit "macho" to be beefy) in America, but not a gal ..

I like the men's board, but I feel more connected to the DS board because that is the surgery I hope to get, and there seems to be a unique set of questions and situations that relate to that surgery. I do tend to read this forum too however

I come over here and read whats going with the guys cause some of your problems are different then womens and since I am a moderator of a support group I like to know more info...
as for postings..men do not typically post adter a 6 months out..and they are less likely to ask for help...
as far as the forum goes its slow on all of them...seems there are other sites out there gaining attention..
good luck to all of ya

I think this is the quietest I can remember the MF ever being ...

Maybe we need to import some hookers over here or something, to get things stirred up ..

i used to post here a lot, but now am posting mainly on the exercise forum and check this site every couple of days.  i've also noticed that it's been slow (and i'm part of the problem).  i just noticed this post and it started 5 days ago :)
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

I've been on O.H. for a little over a year and have seen people come and go.  The guys that posted regularly when I was a newbie slowly faded away.  I thinks it's just the natural progression of things.  When we starting thinking about WLS we're full of questions and seek answers.  Same thing for us post-op.  The further out, the less questions or advice we need.  Some stick around for the newbies or for camaraderie.  Plus, it seems after a little bit of time you tend to see the same questions posted over and over.  Nothing personal.  Like some of the others I tend to read and post more on the Exercise and Fitness Board because that's where more of my interests are now these days.  Good luck and best wishes to you guys going through the process.  I'll be around if you have questions.

 Hi Scott,

I just got tired of posting the same old crap. You know I was up to around 1500 posts. Yeah, I'm good at working out almost every day. Yeah, the weight doesn't come back. If I gain any weight or stopping working out (it's been 4.5 years and I haven't even taken a week off, rarely even two consecutive days. Same 'ol. Same 'ol.

All I can say to people is, if you want it, it's there. Follow the program and you will be fit and thin. Don't follow the program and the weight will come back.

That's all I've got,

NotDave

Hey Dave:

Nice to hear from you.  I agree totally about posting.  What more is there to say when the posts get into the thousands.  Glad that you are still at it with the exercise.  I have been on a running streak that has reached over 4 months.  I want to go a year.

Happy that all is well.  Good to hear from you.

Take care
Scott
