What's up with the mens board sucking balls lately?

Is there just not traffic here or do people just not have anything interesting to ask or say?  Hmmm.

It's spring, everyone has better things to do.  We are all getting active.

Usually it slows down in June, July and August.  Seems a bit early this year.  I hope you are right about everyone getting active.

There hasn't been anything worth reading lately.  Besides I'm busy training MMA and for 2 triathlons.  But most nights I don't even check the board anymore. (the men's board)

You know that I'm here on a regular basis.  I just don't relate to many of the newbies as far as questions about early post-op experiences.  I've simply forgotten them but my wife remembers them well.

I do reply to many posts.  Sometimes I'll interpret a post one way and later realize that the poster was speaking from a different angle.  I'm sorry about that.

I think one thing that may be affecting the traffic on the Men's Forum has been the establishment of so many Groups on OH.  Most of them stay on target, i.e., discussions of the Group's subject do not become discussions about female anatomy and do not turn men off.  However, I soon find myself annoyed just with the way many--not all-- women respond.  I can't say exactly why I don't like it, but there's just a way women have of responding en masse that bothers me.  I may have strayed for a while as far as my focus on OH goes, but I'm back to the Men's Forum as my primary site here.  I occasionally check in on a couple groups.

I guess a pertinent question should be that if Men are not posting here, where are they posting?  Is BigAl's Group still around?  I look there occasionally but have a hard time determining if it has become a place to go.  If so, I wish someone would let us know.  Also, are there Men's discussions off of OH that have become popular?  I know that the Men's section of Quiotic was popular for a while but I think that closed almost a year ago.

As long as there are men having WLS, we should keep getting new members.  I think part of our problem is just being found among the maze of forums and groups on OH.  I've contacted Member Services a couple times a year asking for an easier way for Men to find our forum but it just hasn't happened.  I guess we make up an insignificant minority for the powers that be.

Well I am new to the list so I mostly read others posts looking to learn and be inspired by your posts. SO many of you have done amazingly!

I have just begun my journey. I have attended one support group meeting and have my appointments for visit with the PA and Dietician. I am doing the program at Catholic Medical Center (CMC) in Manchester NH. They require an 8% weight loss prior to surgery, 2 support group meetings, a 6 week lifestyles class (which I have heard ALOT of good things about), a psyc eval, and possibly some other med tests prior to surgery.

My wife Pam is about 18 mos post RNY and has been very successful.  I am just over 100# over my chart weight so compared to many I have met in group have far less to go. BUT I am 55, have an arthritic hip, no energy, no strength. I want to be able to play and enjoy my 1 yo grandsons. I believe WLS will help me with that.

As far as promoting the message board, I LOVE it. I plan on bringing pieces of paper with the URL on it to my next Prop group meeting and to my lifestyle classes.   Also CMC's Obeisity treatment center has launched a Facebook page.  I think I will post the forums address there as well.

I admire every one of you I have read about here. I know many men that could benefit from this surgery and this list is a great place to learn and to see that you are not alone.
OK I have rambled enough.
THANKS to all of you!

I've been ISP/modem problems last few days.  Don't tell the GF but at the ex's using my wi-fi here.  Fixing to rob Peter to pay Paul and get wi-fi working at other house.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

I know I'm usually a regular...but I have a good excuse...I GOT A JOB!!  Having a job in this economy can be a big deal.  Working for my old security company.  They will throw in benifits with just 24 hours per week.  Crummy pay but medical, dental, matching 401 K...sounds good to me.  The only problem is I need to be available alot.  I worked the last two days...walked about 4-5 miles in the uniform and it took alot out of me.  I'll be back more as time allows.  Still make my siren call on the Main Forum for the Men's Forum.  Nothing much now...out there living life.  Take care.  Brian

I think it's just guys are guys. We don't post much. When I first found this website, and I was posting on the main board, I always wondered, "Don't any men ever have this surgery?"
