Don't know if I should be in angst about nearly two pound gain or attribute it to picking up some muscle mass lifting weights. The later sounds better.
Kind of an SBD (Silent But Deadly) FART this week. Went to a state mandated training class this week that had to be attended and not available on line. It put me over the top for my required training for this two year cycle. Ran into a couple of folks I knew from the local Sheriff's Office. Till I approached them they had no idea who I was! Same could be said for a former instructor as well.
Later, I made a comment to the GF that it felt good to take that class. Despite my unemployment situation it felt good to be in a room full of cops again! Had to make a special trip to get it but I picked up a new copy of "the Book" so I can do some serious boning up on all the new laws. Very dry reading but none the less informative.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
Congrats on the FART Lost Texan.
The scale says 234 pounds.. a loss of two pounds last week. It may not seem like much for only 5.5 months post RNY. But a year ago at this time I was steadily gaining weight.. approaching 440 pounds.

As of today (well yesterday as well), i'm officially obese NO MORE! Just plain ol' overweight. LOL. I never thought i'd be so happy to be overweight, but i'm ecstatic. LOL. From morbidly obese, to obese, to overweight! Love it.
Highest Weight : 361 (pre-op diet) | Surgery Weight : 311 | Current Weight : 181
Congrats JiffyJ. I'm about five pounds away from becoming overweight instead of obese too.

Great job, Jiff!
I asked my nutritionist and surgeon about a goal weight, and while they are loathe to assign numbers, they both agreed on a number that puts me right at the line between overweight and obese. When I asked them why I am striving to be obese, my thin-as-a-rail nutritionist said "Look, **I** am 15 pounds overweight according to those ridiculous BMI charts". Let me tell you, she would have to be in a concentration camp to lose 15 pounds, and would probably be hopelessly ill because of it.
I don't know why nobody tries to update those 50-ish year old BMI charts that have people aiming to be unhealthy in order to reach a BMI category. At 260, I have people telling me that I am clearly almost done losing (a bit of a paunch left, but hardly the lump I used to be), and the professionals are saying 220-230 (I'm 6'1). The BMI chart suggests I be no more than 189 - 40 pounds less than my surgeon and nutritionist think is reasonable. I'm heavily muscled (almost have to be after carrying that much weight with every step for most of my life), and would hate to lose that just to chase the BMI chart, so the 220s is my final goal.

Hi Less. I could be headed for the same situation as you. I too am 6 foot one inch tall. People around me says I should be pretty close to where I need to be. The charts say I should weigh 189 at most. And could go down to 173!! That's another 45 pounds just to get to 189. I weigh 234 right now. But my waist is still 42 inches.
To be honest. I'd like my waist to be 38 inches or less. My body fat percentage to be about 17 percent. Getting below 200 pounds wouldn't be bad either.
But I see my NUT and doc in a month and a half. We'll see what they say.
