Help, Energy levels
3.5 weeks out of surgery, and I have crashed, all I want to do is sleep, my body feels like I have just ran a marathon, in the past I would say I need some carbs for energy, try oatmeal, CRASH, try protien CRASH try anything...
Any one else have this, I could go to sleep while typing this if I let myself, Im getting a solid 8 hours of sleep at nite, was thinking of trying some juices, apple or something like that.
Any suggestions as to what may help, took 2 naps today and still exhausted, feel good otherwise, just dont know what to try
Thanks

A few weeks out I would try and grab for energy and it just wasn't there...I know where you're coming from. A couple ideas...things high in potassium may help...oranges, tomatoes, raisins, spinach, bananas, yogurt. Add a small amount of salt to your diet. Know the signs of dehydration too...and watch the sunburns...that can zap you. I was in your hometown today...Just got back from AZ an hour ago...drove all the way...about 11 hours. Watched a couple spring training games. I took my bicycle too. Found 2 great places to ride. 1. Around the ballfields, lake and civic center of Surprise AZ... 2. Downtown Scottsdale. When you have some energy...give those a try. Brian
My way might not be the right way but you will get you energy. PowerBar Gel refuel step 2 strawberry banana with some water.
For juice try this;
I have been drinking Health Balance Apple juice and it is delicious. I have not dump drinking it, only 6g of sugar per 8ozs. This is one of those products. It really is impossible to tell the difference between this low carb drink and regular apple juices. The juice is mellow, smooth, and very sweet. This juice is awesome! "

been there done that also bet your blood sugar level is really low so yea just get in some juice I know ya keep hearing about protien protien protien. I am 3 years out and for almost all of those 3 years i didn't get the protien, I had NO engery and just moped around-lost 90 pounds but had no strength and I am a type "A" started the cheap (but tasts good) big cans of protien at Walmart and WOW!!! full of energy and got all my strength back might gieve it a try my 2 cents good luck
There is definitely a big learning curve with this surgery and living a normal life post-op. Two years out and I still struggle for that balance but for the most part it boils down to your body needing food, water and air.
Give it enough of each to sustain the activities you're planning to do and you'll be fine.
