May be it's vanity on my part but.....

Do you ever look in the mirror and suck in your gut?  I'm comming up on two years in April and I've noticed that almost every time I look in a mirror I want to suck in my gut.  I guess I'm starting to appreciate the journey but I enjoy seeing my flattened out stomach!  Would look better with an LBL but for now I'm good!

After being obese.. we deserve a little vanity.

I reckon you have a point.  We've earned it!

We don't see ourselves the way others do.  When I look in the mirror all I see is sagging skin, but here is how others see me.  I moved to a new office last week and met quite a few new people, one of the men referred to me as "one of those guys with an athletic build".  I just don't see it.  LOL

That was one of the best things about when I was in GA - nobody there knew me as obese.  All they saw was the "normal" looking me.  Would have to show pics to convince them otherwise.

 I'm with the rest of the guys.  After WLS you do suck in your gut because you see the sagging skin, to everyone else who sees you when you are wearing clothes you look normal now but to yourself you still see fat.  Even though its just extra skin its still in the back of your mind.  I wouldn't mind getting some plastics done to remove this extra skin but its just not going to happen anytime soon because of the cost.  So be a little vain, we earned it.  Think about it this way though, when we first started our journey's people looked at us in disgust.  Now they look at us in a whole different way.  I actually get hit on by cute girls, that doesn't make my wife the happiest but she understands that I do feel good getting the attention.  I have no desire to ever act on it so its not a problem.  Just enjoy life knowing your going to live longer and look better while doing it.

So be a little vain, we earned it.  Think about it this way though, when we first started our journey's people looked at us in disgust.  Now they look at us in a whole different way.

I guess a little vanity won't hurt!
