Hello my friends, got half way to goal, very happy to be here..!!!
Hi guys, Hard to believe but I saw my Doc yesterday for my first fill (2cc) in the "Band" and I was 234, down from 285.........half way home...
I just want to share that I had given up all hope of losing weight and that I was going to die prematurely as the severely obese, sad, miserable person that I had become. My Staff at the Clinic was really worried that I was just going to drop dead at work one day. I was exhausted , the color in my face was all red/purple, my feet so swollen it was hard to walk, etc.
It finally took a heart attack for me to get here...!!!
This is truly a miracle for me........everything that I do during the course of the day is easier with the weight off...!!! And I am starting to get off my meds, first no more water pills as my feet don't swell anymore, a little more weight off and I will be off the blood pressure pills that I have had to take for the last 35 years.........I am hoping to get off the C-PAP down the road.....
It has been really fun to go into a treatment room at the Clinic and have a patient (who hasn't seen me in the last 4 months) say " oh my god...you look great..!! "
Mostly just wanted to say thank you to everyone here at the Men's Group, as your help and support has meant the world to me.

You know... being able to fit into smaller size clothing... theatre and airline seats are all great feelings.. But nothing can beat the miracle of saving yourself from an early grave. Congratulations and thanks for the inspiration.
P.S. Hey.. you and I have about the same goals and same weight to lose. Wanna Race?
Never mind. At the rate you're losing.. You'll be there in no time at all!

I went back to look over your profile after you mentioned your clinic. I was wondering what type it was. I guess you are in the right place in case your have any more heart problems. At first I didn't know what to say for someone with a different type of surgery. Then I realized that I do so every day. Our common good is to support each other along the journey of weight loss and freedom from compulsive eating ( as much as we can).
I knew that my goal weight would be higher than most men's starting weight but that didn't matter. I often think that I don't look different from when I was at my max weight. My friends and family tell me otherwise.
Keep coming back and posting. You are doing fine. I'll be 60 in April and one thing I'm thankful for is that I don't have any steps in my house. I wondered how you could go downstairs with the pain in your chest and your sore feet and knees.
