My surgeon took me off mine right after surgery but my PCP follows me for those meds.  My PCP is the one who prescribed it in the first place.  However, I did not have to go back on them because my blood pressure is normal now.

Herc, that is a very good B.P. reading!

How many meds for it are you still taking?  You might be able to drop at least some of them now, and your b.p. still be at a good level.   It will have to be carefully done, on the advice of your doc, though, and you monitor things carefully the whole time.   Once going off a b.p. med you may be subject to "rebound hypertension", which is when the body "overly compensates" (for want of a better way of saying it) for the missing b.p. med and makes your b.p. go up even higher than it would have been had you not been on that med originally.   The one thing you do need to also be careful of, and I think you said you had prior heart damage or enlargement (?), is going off a diuretic (e.g. Lasix), if you are on any for the b.p.   That swelling can suddenly zoom right back in then and do some serious further cardio-related damage ..

I so envy guys that are able to get down to a normal b.p. after WLS.   That was the ONLY co-morbid of mine that did not resolve following my 200+ lbs. weight loss.  Oddly enough, it may even now be a bit higher than it was before, and that's on 3 different meds, 7 total pills a day, now (typically now 170/110 w. meds)   I know, it is a total mystery to me AND my doc ..

Do NOT suddenly go off the Metoprolol .  I made that mistake this past week and lucky I did not go to Strokeville (yet).   My doc would not renew my script w/o a checkup, I found out on Friday, and I didn't have time for a visit that day  ..  The pharmacy would not give me a loan for that reason over the weekend, even though the pharmacist told me that it would be dangerous to stop it, due to "rebound hypertension" risk  ..  She was amittedly between a rock and a hard place ..   My head has been splittin' and my vision double all weekend ..
