Upping my protein ?
I went to lift a chair with one arm today, and had some pain in my triceps. And that muscle felt weak. I looked at my arms when I got home and decided that I am losing muscle mass. So I'm going to try to increase my daily protein. Right now I average about 85 grams a day. I want to get in at least 100 grams protein today.
Does anyone think that's enough?

With most RNY type gastric bypass, you have post-op malabsorption rate of about 60% of what you intake, if I said that correctly. SO if you take in 100 gms, you are benefitting from about 60 gms. After that sunk in for me, the 60 gm minimm my surgeon required was netting me about 20 gms worth and I wondered why I felt fatiqued. I get between 120 to 180 gm a day now on average. I makes a diffeernce in how well I feel. If you are doing any regular exercise at all, it should make a difference for you too. NOTE: getting more protein in will help you feel better, but it won't help the muscle mass you've already loss without exercise. Increased intake should minimize-to-halt continuing muscle mass loss. That information is really going to help me. So thanks to Herc and JGreen. I am definitely going to sign up for Women on Weights. I don't think my swimming will help the muscle mass and I don't want to lose what muscle Ha Ha that I have. Left arm is already weak from rotator surgery.
