scared to eat and seems like my pouch doesnt like anything
I just found out that my pouch doesnt like grape Crystal light thats what I been living on since the surgery. Now I'm drinking water cause its less drama. Had some chicken & rice soup that was cool. Now I'm worry about my protein intake. I havnt found nothing to give it to me. I thought about some refried beans and ground turkey and a little salsa mix I know it dont sound good but its pack with protein. I'm going to get some 100% juice and add water and see how that works. Maybe Ill try some mashed potaoes

Your doctor doesn't have you on a soft or liquid diet less than a week after surgery? IMHO at this point should be liquids only. Chicken can be hell on a new pouch and so can rice. Run the risk of a kernel getting stuck in suture line not letting it heal correctly.
The refried beans can be mushed up so no issue there. I keep a can around for when nothing else sounds good! Mashed potatos are good too. Add cheese or protein powder to boost the protein.
Learning to eat post op is a lot of trial and error. May have to endure some unpleasant side effects
but in the end it is worth it!

Two thoughts...egg salad and tuna salad. I need to find someone to make the hard boiled eggs for me...not a cook. For both I would add a small amount of low fat mayo, salt and pepper and Mt. Olive Sugar Free Pickle Relish...
Made with Splenda. Two simple ideas that worked for me. Also know what a stricture is. You may need to look it up. Just be aware of them...They usually happen at about 3 week for RNY patients. Your doc went over it...but like me, there was so much stuff they went over...Just know the signs. Also know the signs of dehydration... Enought preaching...enjoy the ride. Brian
