OH! BOY! Here we go!!

I have been slack here the last month....maybe more.  I applogize.  I've been getting some priorities in order and doing some inventory....on myself.  Both physically and spiritually!!

I have lost 16 lbs and I could just .   Well,  I have been.  I've done some jumping and bending, and ablounging.  I'm up to 50 ablounges and for me, that is good.  Right now, I am wearing a T-shirt that I use to wear that had gotten too tight.  Actually, too little!!!  I can't believe I've got it on .  I was up to a 36 waist and have 2 pair of 38 waist dress pants.  Yep.  I sure had!!

Now, I'm back down to my 34's.  I know I am bragging, but I want to let you know,
"IF YOU HAVE GAINED, IT IS POSSIBLE TO LOSE AGAIN!!"
It IS possible to shrink your pouch back down.  I have been on a fast of protein shakes and veggies (small portions of veggies) and have cut out my snacks and sweets.  I had totally gotten out of hand with my snacking and sweets.  Funny thing is, I never wanted sweets before WLS.  After the surgery, I got a little sweet tooth and it grew on me.  As of cutting them out totally the last 21 days, I have lost that sweet tooth.  Yes, I have tried today and the sweets are too sweet.  Gaining, I was put back on insulin.  The last 21 days, I have not had to take a shot..... ALL BECAUSE OF THE NO SWEETS OR BREADS!!!   So, I am proof (in my self) that sweets and breads are an enemy when you allow them to get out of hand.

To those of us who have been here 5 years even 3 or 4...maybe less and you have gained, take control of yourself and USE THE TOOL WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN.  I think that all of us are challenged during this walk.  It is like my spiritual walk.  Am I going to give in to the temptations or am I going to turn and walk on?   I don't know about anyone else, but I'm walking on!!!

To win for me!!  I will win in 2010!!!  Join me?

For every Goliath, there is a Stone! His name is Jesus!"

you probably didn't stretch your pouch if you gained weight because of snacking.  The WLS does not prevent weight gain due to snacking.  A better indication that you haven't stretched your pouch is noting how much you can eat at meals.  If you still could only eat a small amount of food at meals ( esp compared to prior to WLS ), you probably didn't stretch your pouch.

I've often written that I do have a problem with snacks esp white flour and sweets.  I'm a food addict and junk food junkie.  Unfortunately, I've know that for about 30 and have been dealing with it to varying degrees for over 20 years.  For those interested in Food Addiction, I recommend Kay Shepard's book FOOD ADDICTION---The BODY KNOWS.  Part of her conviction is that the body reacts tp  addicting foods the way an alcoholic reacts to alcohol.  That is, there is an actual physical component of food addiction and is not simply a matter of exercising will power.  Yes, you do have to stop eating the addicting foods but you have to be gentle with yourself as you begin to understand the extent of your problem.

Thanks for the post Randall. I'm a newbie and need to file away your story for the future.
