Anyone a fan of Beef Jerky?
Concerning beef in general. It may not sit well in the pouch this early on. I first started eating beef in Wendy's Chili...then moved to steak. Then I moved to beef jerky after about 6 months...was worried about the sugar in the jerky. As you know, test every new thing...see if the pouch will accept it or reject it. If you're not sure...WAIT. The pouch will let you know soon enought. Now I keep beef jerky in my pockets and in the car. I have it every day. Brian
I have been tempted to pick up some Beef Jerky.. but the sodium levels are too high. My doc has me on a low sodium diet.

I bought one of those jerky/dried fruit maker kits at Wal-Mart and made and ate a lot of jerky my first year out (btw, the "marinated steak strip method" is easier and tastier than the "hamburger gun/beefstick method"). I then found out how high the sodium content of it is, and stopped, since it only made my very high b.p. even worse.
Maybe you'll get lucky and have one of those Beef Jerky Outlets open near you. We had one open just a few 100 yards from my place last month. They give out free samples of jerky made from just about every kind of game you can imagine!

I absolutely love beef jerkey, but I have to make sure to get the dry hard kind. It makes me chew it more and really enjoy the flavor. Jack Links peppered is my favorite. But I cannot have the single sticks that are chewey, they give me the foamies. Its a great source of protein, sure its high on the sodium but so what..
