She's gonna be pissed.......
So if my wife someone reads this she is probaby gonna be pissed and there will be hell to pay. She is a very private person. She had the DS two months ago and is on this site frequently, but its a chance I must take.
So here's my question. As I said my wife had the DS two months ago. Before her DS we had a great sex life. In fact as much as I hate to admit it. She actually wanted it more than I did. Well now since the surgury her sex drive is gone. I love my wife to death. I think she looks great. I thought she looked great before the surgury. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this experience? And I guess the bigger question is, I am having the DS in april or may. How is the DS going to effect me? Are we done having sex?
Help me out guys.
Thanks,
Evan
It is not the surgery type that may alter you or your spouses libido. It is the hormone dump from the rapid weight loss that will alter the sex drive. This is a very common question on the SBAAWLS (sex) board. Have seen post that it go both ways to one extreme or the other.
ETA: With both you and your wife having WLS can tell you that things will get "different" in the sack! GF is also a post op RNY and bumping pelvic bones is a new experience! Not to mention the enhanced mobility from losing weight. It can get pretty wild!
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
Also what many guys don't realize is that their body is releasing estrogen...Yes, you heard me right estrogen!! It is in your fat cells. It can really throw many guys for a loop. Guys who were not very emotional soon become emotional. Sex drives go bonkers. For say 95% of the guys it will pass. If not, go see the doc. I know my blood flow increased because of the weightloss. Hang in there...we're here for support. Brian
Over time, it sometimes evens out either way, but ti does bother me to see that some ladies report that even after 2 or 3+ years out and after having reached goal weight their drive is still in the dumper ..
Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "
HW/461 LW/251 GW/189 CW/274 (yep, a DS semi-failure - it happens :-( )
Was her surgery open of closed? If open, at two months her abdominal muscles may still be tender with ****** Keep that one in mind for yourself, btw.
As the guys above said... major surgery... huge weight loss... big hormone changes...
