Waist size and your health
BMI based on your height and weight?
Body Fat Percentage?
How about your waist size?
Here is an excerpt from a recent study on waist size and risk of cardiovascular problems:
For abdominal obesity, a waist circumference of at least 34.6 in versus less than 31.5 in. in women and at least 40.2 in. versus less than 37 in. in men was associated with 2.9 times higher relative risk of nonfatal cardiovascular disease.

I weigh 251 lbs at six foot one inches tall. BMI charts say I should weigh between 173 and 189 lbs.
My waist as 46 inches.
It would appear to me that to become less at risk for a heart attack, I need to get my waist smaller than 40 inches.
Does anyone have any experience with reaching their goal weight, (not that I have yet) but still having a larger waist then they believe is healthy?

That news really bummed me out, as even at my lowest weight of 251 I still had a mid-40"s waist (and that was "below the belly") ..
