I may not be hitting my underland of 200 lbs anytime soon

I have now decided to stick out the crossfit training .. It seems I may put on more muscle mass  , wish I could see the scale drop , but my waist keeps getting smaller...

I was on the treadmill at the gym and doing those things to get me to weigh less, but i needed a personal trainer and this guy who has his gym a half block away..is now helping me for free.. of course I have connections in the community , but he told me why he needs help...

I personally am liking the training.. it has only been 4 days and I can feel my gluts again as well as my hamstring muscles.. my quads are sore as heak, I am not recommending this training , just stating I am doing this for now...

I remember when I was in the corps, my downfall there ,was that I hated the gym and only liked to run and would have rather done a 15 mile run than hit the gyum.. but I wasn't strong in areas I needed to be in.... so I made up getting a decent score in the PFT with the Run
So I remember that and decided to stick with this type of training , plus he scales it for his students , which is ok because I am a beginner... and I want to be fit. not just pretty..

psychologically though we measure everything by the scale and I am losing inches around my waist and now I am starting to see noticeable loose  skin  around my calves and , now that I can see my hams if I am lying on my side , I have loose skidnthere as well , which tells me something is going on, but on MArch 1 , which is my bday .. I want to weigh under 180 lbs but it aint looking that way , but hopefully I will look better and feel better.

I guess I have had to make the decision to get fit and not go by the scale.. it is tough because weight loss is measurable on a scale... and it makes you feel so much more a success...

I am a huge proponant of wieght training post-op simply because the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn at rest.  I ran about 700 miles last year and I swear that the weight training does more for keeping the weight off than the running.  Good for you and keep up the good work.

The another thing people notice is their collarbones.  Success in WLS is getting healthy (and staying healthy).  The gravy (or protein shake) is a better looking & toned body.  Keep up the good work.  Brian  PS  Another simple way to judge on the weightloss...when you stand and lift something and your pants start falling down!!  Enjoy the ride.

Funny, I started crossfit this past week also.  After I started it, I found out that eight of my officers are doing it also.  We are getting ready to build a classroom and storage area at our range (love those drug deaqlers who leave money lying aroung) and I was able to set aside 700 square feet for a workout area.  I didn't know until this week that my guys were trying to figure out how to get me to outfit the space as a crossfit gym.

dgarzila, stick with it.  Make sure they scale the workouts to your level.  In the end this journey we are on is ultimately about overall fitness and the rest will take care of itself.  I found out yesterday that my latest HGBA1c was 5.5 and even with thisa surgery. I never thought that would be possible after being a diabetic for almost twenty years.

Good luck with the crossfit.
