Biggest Loser Reflection, Weight Loss and Exercise

Some of you may remember the discussion that I had on this forum about my feelings abou****ching Biggest Loser pre-op.  I felt like a failure and that I was taking the easy way out.  Following that post I received some very good support here and I am thankful for it.  I was on the fence about continuing with the surgery.  I am glad I did.

In November of 2009, I had the RNY surgery and am feeling great.  Now, I am watching the newest Biggest Loser show and feel completely different about it.  I now see myself inspired again and focusing on the diet and fitness portion of the show.

I have decided to contact a local gym that does not have membership fees, only daily, monthly, and class fees.  Much easier to handle with limited income.  When I sent the email, I asked for a meeting time to discuss what they will be able to do to help me reach my goals.

I am so happy not to feel like a failure and lost cause anymore.

You are going to be on an emotional roller coaster for the next few months - we all go through it.  There is nothing magic we can say that will make it easier, but I can tell you it is all worth it.  Read labels, drink water and get exercise doing something you like, and you will be successful.  Habits are hard to break, but that is the key.  When you see one of your old bad habits creaping back kick it's azz.

Go get em.

Thank you.

Maybe I mis-stated my feelings.  The feelings of failure were pre-op.  Post-op, I am feeling inspiration to make this tool work for me.

Though, I will not be naive in thinking that I will not continue to have low points every now and then.  That is life in general.

Again, thank you, it is this kind of support that I appreciate so much from this forum.

Congrats on the change in feelings and on the success you are having.

Best of luck with the gym, that is a great decision to start getting active and putting in that extra exercise.  At first I dreaded it, now I look forward to it and I actually feel worse when I don't go.  Both mentally and physically

Thank you.  I am kind of frustrated right now.  I would have thought the gym would want my business.  Maybe they are busy.  I will probably drop in one night and surprise them.  I would try another gym, but I don't have the money to join a gym with membership and a committment.  This other place is about $30 per month.

Is there a Fitness 19 around you?  It is only $19 a month.  Most gyms(that I have been to) charge this for a day pass or two.
