Since for most of my life I have been Morbidly Obese.. I have shopped at, or ordered from Big Man's Clothing stores. Now that my waist is around 48 inches.. I an finding more and more clothes in "regular: stores. But I still can't buy anything my heart desires.  For those of you who have ventured into the smaller, more normal sizes.. I'd like to know.   At what sizes of clothing do you seem to find the largest selection available?

Herc,

Are you and I the only two men up this early and the rest are ?

To answer your question it has been my experience that most stores stock in size 40 and lower pants and medium to X-large shirts.  To get to the bigger sized jeans I would frequent Tractor Supply Company Stores till I topped out there and found my 52-54's at a Western specaility store.  Remember thinking "Good, they have them (jeans) up to size 60."  Now I can buy jeans at Wally World/Target w/o any problem...and they are less expensive!!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

I would say that when you get to a 42 you will have a pick of just about anything.

42" and XL or 18" for sportswerar, dress, semi casual

38" and XL for "young men's" i.e. Billabong, American eagle, Abercrombie, etc

The smaller you get, the better the deals are.  Smaller clothing is more likely to be placed on "clearance" due to the fact that there are so many overweight folk out there.  I recently got 2 pairs of cargo shorts in 34" at JC Penney for $1.97 each.  They'll work great next spring!

Just my observation.
