Hey Fellas!

I noticed that immediately following surgery, that first week I lost about 24lbs. Since then, I have not lost any... I have been at 400lbs since the 2nd week? Any thoughts or insight on this matter? I don't weight myself that often, because I refuse to be a slave to the scale. I have lost alot of inches. I'm in some size 48 pants that I bought when I wore size 58. I'm just concerened at this point. I had always heard that you would lose about a pound a day initially or more. Thanks for all the info. it's greatly appreaciated!

Losing inches is good too!  Weight loss is not a sprint.  It is a marathon!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Hey!!! i'm just sayin!!!

This is all new to me and I'm not too sure what to expect... is this a place where they should show a disclaimer: Results Not Typical   lol

You all are so helpful, so I figure I would throw the question out there.
So your official response is "Patience Grasshopper, you must crawl before you can walk" I can definitely take that and run with it!

You sir are right on both accounts!

Results Not Typical

No two weight loss journeys are the same.  Some loose quickly and others can't pry the weight off with a pry bar!

So your official response is "Patience Grasshopper, you must crawl before you can walk"

In a nutshell!

24 # in a month is almost a pound a day.  You don't literally lose 1 pound every day, you can go 3 weeks at the same weight then BAM 30# in 1 week.  Be patient and do as the doctor ordered and it will come off.

I have heard that too, I'm not even a month out yet, so I'm  so grateful for the progress... the back pain that I use to suffer has already decreased in severity.

Thanks Robert!

I can understand how you feel.

I lost something like 22 pounds in the 1st two weeks, then stalled, and stayed stalled for close to 4 more weeks.  It was absolute hell.  But it picked back up again.

I personally do not ever see 1 pound a day weight loss, except in those first couple of weeks.  So everybody's journey is different, that's something I had to learn the hard way.  I try my best not to compare my results to anyone else, because it'll just drive me crazy.

You're better than me tho, cause i'm a scale ***** and am on that thing daily, lol.  So sad, but it helps keep me accountable as well.

I had my RNY surgery on the 11/10. I have lost between 25-30 lbs.  I am, as as JiffyJ said, a Scale *****  I am on that thing 1 or 2 times a day, for the same reason.  I want to be accountable.  However, I know it can hurt me mentally when I stall.  I just try to take each day the same.  Do what I am supposed to and don't look back.  The end result is what I am after.  If it takes 0 pound days to get there so be it.

"Be patient young grasshopper" is a good phrase, but keep that one in the front of my mind.

I wish  you much success.
