Need Help To Maintain

1-2oz total of mixed nuts...all different kinds...Once or twice a day.  Since we are guinea pigs in some ways concerning absorption, I think it's important to use a variety of foods...the color of the rainbow, just to be sure we try and prevent as much malabsorption as possible.  That is why I try and eat different colored fruits and vegetables also.  I also take two differnt multivitamins a day...one in the morning and one in the evening.
One thing you may find...thought I hope you don't...You may dump less and less over time with sugar.  The body adjusts and what would give you problems with sugar early on, may not later.  But to have the "fear of God" that you may dump in the back of your mind can help with keeping the weigh off over the years.  Enjoy the ride.  Brian

I'm in that very state myself -- trying to stabilize right now.

I purchased a Gowear Fit (similar to the calorie monitor they use on Biggest Loser) and I'm using it to see how many calories I burn per day.   Then I've been slowly bumping up my calories to try and match.  What you suggested is exactly what I've been trying to do -- turning my "snacks" into a couple more meals a day.  That has bumped my calories up.

Right now I'm still running about a 200-300 calorie deficit per day but I've stabilized on my weight.   So, I'm guessing that my measurements may be off a bit on what I'm eating.

Almonds, PB2 and Oh Yeah Protein bars have been helpful.

Thanks, good to know someone else who is doing the same thing. About how many calories a day do you think you may get? I'm not a big exercise guy but have a high matabloism (is that spelled right). I was getting 14-1600 cals a day per the nut but that has not done the trick as I lost eight pounds after that so they want me to do a food diary fr a few days and go from there. Think I'll add another protein bar into the mix.
Thanks,
David

The past two weeks I've been getting in about 1900 - 2000 calories.   I used Daily Plate to log my food intake so my numbers are based on that.

I'm not a big exercise guy either but I have been really steady on my walking/jogging.   So, I get in 3.5 miles in 45 min 5 nights a week and weights on one other night.   With the gowear fit tracking that, it still looks like I'm averaging a 200-300 calorie deficit per day.

I also forgot to mention that I had my basil metabolic rate tested at our fitness center at work (cost $30 bucks).  They measure your oxygen burn and calculate how many calories you burn just by "living" during the day.   Mine came out about 1850 which was pretty close to what I see from the gowear fit on a non-exercise day and also pretty closely matches the electronic scales I have which estimates that based on height, weight and body fat.

I've eaten 2-4 oz of nuts since i began solid foods nearly 2 years ago and never had issues, then again everything sits well in my pouch (except sugar/fried foods which I havent tried) so start out slow.  Your body should stop losing when it's ready but if you feel you're getting too thin you may want to increase your volume/frequency as well as adding more healthy carbs into your diet, like oatmeal ( i eat it twice a day among my 7 meals )...or whole wheat bread/toast, etc...That is what my nutritionist told me to do and it worked, I've been maintaining goal weight for over a year now +/- a couple pounds.

FYI, I'm 6'6" and eat about 3000-3500 calories / day to maintain....at 6' you should probably be closer to 2500 calories / day if you're somewhat active.

Thannks a bunch Adam.
I'm gonna use some nuts when I need to extra cals. I like the oatmeal idea too. I guess I'll need to try the more meals a day too.
Thanks again,
David
