Hey Guys;
I'm just a little over eight months post-op but have made my goal and beyond by a few pounds. I don't want to lose anymore at all.
I was wondering what some of you eat to maintain your weight. I'm around six foot and 165ish pounds. I don't know how much I malasborb or for how long I'll be doing that. I guess I'll need to eat a couple more "meals" a day and/or add protein drinks till I find a balance but sure could use some advise. How many calories do you get and how do you get them. I do dump, as I get nausea if I eat more than 6g's of sugar, or heavy fats. Can we eat nuts much? I eat a tad every day but don't know how hard they are on the stomach and all.
Thanks ahead of time for your help.
David

one bottle of beer is enough to flip my switch off for a couple days

I can't believe I forgot about beer. Thanks, I'll make a beer run tomorrow. I had better watch myself cuz I have not drank any post-op so have no idea what will happen.
Thanks again,
David

David,

I had better watch myself cuz I have not drank any post-op so have no idea what will happen.

Wise man!  Might I suggest you hang around the crib when you do indulge in the first brewski.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Might I suggest you read this before making that beer run.

Thanks for sharing that post with me is a good read.
If I did/do drink it would be no more than a beer or two couple times a week. I'm not much of a big drinker. I have not had anything post surgery and may keep it that way for now, but then again a beer ever so often does not sound bad. I wonder if my taste buds have changed there?

Being only 9 weeks post RNY. I can't speak to your larger question. But I do eat almonds. But only about 12 grams (12 almonds). I throw them in my lunch sometimes.  I eat them to get some "good fat" into my diet.

Thanks, I think I'll get some almonds today. I was just wondering if to many might be hard to go down, or thu as the case may be.

Small amounts of plain nuts would be good...Also roasted soy nuts.  One road I wished I had never gone down...carbs.  Not fruit, but pasta, breads, cake, tortilla chips, sugar.  I have to fight them a lot...many times they win, but the way I fight them the most is by exercise.  Personally I would add some good carbs (complex carbs), and keep up the exercise (whatever that would be).  Those are the two biggest pieces of advice I can give.  Brian

Thanks Brain. When you say small amounts about how much are you thinking? I have not had much bread at all post-op, no cakes or chips, and very little sugar as I get nausea from more than 7 grams or so. I do have some pasta with the protein as I eat dinner.
Thanks again,
David
