My weight loss goal - not only is to lose weight

Once I lose this weight - my goal is to learn to play ice hockey on an amateur adult league. I've always wanted to play and I couldn't even begin to try at my current weight.

Anyone else have an additional goal to go with their weight loss?

Good for you...That'll be a great goal to meet!  It's fun to do many things after your weight loss...I did sky diving, roller coaster, bought tons of clothes, partied, flew on airplanes, and a whole bunch more!

I found I went from sport to sport trying to find the one that worked for me.  You will find with the rapid weightloss you may lose muscle mass (the protein shakes helps to retain the muscle mass).  With hockey you may be quicker, but may have real problems with the ice checking...don't know.  But even with weightraining you may not have the muscles you had before.
Two stories from my adventures in sports.  Before playing golf I could drive the ball about 220 yards with the driver.  As I got older the distance dropped (which I expected...same clubs...never got a new set).  After WLS my driving dropped to about 180 yards.  I know some of it was flexiblity, but some was a loss of muscle mass.  I played college tennis...I was pretty good (which isn't saying much...everyone is good in California...like hockey in Canada).  My serve was timed at 100 MPH back then (older racquets).  Now I'd be lucky to be at 60-70 MPH.  What I am saying is you may have to go from sport to sport to find your niche.  Happy trails...Brian

Airplanes, roller coasters, carnival rides in general, buying smaller clothes, seeing my manhood without a mirror!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

A pull up, just one. ONE FREAKING PULLUP!

Heck I'd be happy to close the tailgate on my truck with one hand

I've wanted to do just one pull up for 30 friggin' years. That's still near the top of my post-op goal list.  I guess it goes back to the high school physical fitness test.
