Cramps

Have any you guys had leg and foot cramps after WLS??  I've the 2:30 am cramps where I have to jump on my toes for 20 seconds!!!  May need more potassium??

I have and still do.  With me, I feel like its a lack of water.  I just try to keep hydrated.

try taking magnesium citrate...the pills not the green bottle. It should help with the cramping. Becareful not to use magnesium oxide, it will go right through you (although it is good for keeping you regular, it is not good for cramps).

As for potassium, suppliments are almost useless, you'd be better off eating 1 banana a day. Personally I eat 2 bananas a day and take 5 potassium suppliments a day (OTC you can only get 99 mgs which is only 3 percent of your RDA). But a banana has almost 700 mgs of potassium, and is VERY easily absorbed into the body.

I'am tired of jumping out of bed at 2:30 am and standing on my toes.   I bought some bananas and potissum tablets.  Will see tomorrow.

Cramps are usually one of three things. Dehydration, exhaustion or electrolytes.
