Atlanta OH Conference
I've been disappointed in the "guy turnout" at OH events in the past, and in part why I think I'm not even going to bother attending any more in the future ... Mostly they are just hubbies drug along by their WLS wives .. A few are hopeful pre-ops, but it seems very few post-op guys show ..
There seems to be this, "we don't need no stinkin' support group meetings" mindset w. many guy post-ops, and this has been talked about before on the MF. I remember in our men's breakout group at the huge OH event in San Antonio 3 years ago, we only had THREE guys prseent, other than the group leaders .. Myself, another post-op, and one pre-op. ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/frustrated.gif)
Not that I don't mind having all those ladies around me, per se, but I feel so out of place when I'm at them, like I'm attending a ladies' flower club meeting or something ..

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "
HW/461 LW/251 GW/189 CW/274 (yep, a DS semi-failure - it happens :-( )
I'm hip to your trip...the first OH conference I went to was in Fort Lauderdale near my house, I was only 4 months post-op, so it was pretty exciting and motivating. A year later I went to one in Orlando, it was pretty lame compared to the year before. It's been a few years now, and the Atlanta conference is supposed to be pretty big and diverse. I am looking forward to it, and being close to 4 years post-op, am hoping to be an inspiration to some there.
