What's wrong with this guy?
Not sure what I've done to him, but this is one PM out of several I received before he blocked me:
I'm not here to make enemies, just friends.

Not sure why you want to be my friend and then **** with me in the thread saying I am the guy with the deactivated account. PM me back an give me a good reason why I should not block you now. |

You never know who is legit and who isn't. The more they post (with pictures) the more I tend to believe them. Others who post (but want their privacy) are legit too...over time you just seem to know their personality. Some people on here are famous. I know one who is a PA...so they may not want to disclose that (for all the medical questions). On the California Board they have planned regional get togethers and one person ran off with the money...also the Cali Board had a Christmas Box that went around to the different women (put 10 things in it to start...send it off. The next person takes 1 thing out and puts in one thing)...disappeared. Others have real mental issues...cross section of society...
85 percent are sane, 10 percent are crazy (but you know ...just like that one aunt that likes to put her teeth in a glass at the table while you eat thanksgiving dinner crazy)...and then there are 5 percent that are just wackos. They create "troll" accounts and come under different IDs to start trouble.

Guys I am retracting and correcting this post. I am eating crow as I do, for I mis-spoke about Micheal completely. I wish to publicly apologize to Micheal here as well. I assumed the his posting was a continuation of the stuff that had gone on for a few days and, like many of you, I have grown tired of that. Micheal was probably totally blind sided by my remarks.
Micheal, I am truly sorry, please be welcome to the group. In your shoes I would have asked the very same thing you asked. There is a lot of great info these guys can and will share with you. I know that I got us off to a bad start, but I hope that we can start a new.

There usually isn't any drama on this board and I apologize to everyone for contributing to any. The guys try to keep it drama free and keep this board open to discuss questions about WLS and successes and concerns. Please do not think that this is not a nice board, because the guys here are great! They, for the most part, will give you the shirt off their backs to help you.

I feel like I'm in the dark. I check this site every day and usually a few times a day but I don't check every post because some of them just don't apply to me. I'm totally unaware of what's going on here. I probably shouldn't even be posting this, but I just did want to add that there is a lot of positive info available on this forum.
Do you ever wonder why we occassionally get women posting here? I think a lot of women read what's on our forum because most of the time it deals with actual WLS issues, diet, and exercise. And, what you post in the morning will generally still be on the first page of the forum for at least a day and even more during the middle of the week.
I try to keep my posts positive. I tend to not respond too much to newbies only because I forget what happened in the early stages of being post-op following my first RNY. My wife remembers every detail. I've mentioned that I am manic depressive. It's frustrating fo me to be intelligent and unable to do so many things that used to be easy. I do generally wait before submitting my posts. I read them over to make sure they make sense and are reasonably gramattically correct since I was an English major in college.
Finally, I used to wonder about the Friends feature on OH. It was starting to get a little distracting to have a lot of friends until I realized that, with the new way OH is set up, you get to see your friends' recent postings. That allows you to quickly see how they are doing.
I have used the Contact feature to PM people directly. And, I do have a few internet friends on OH around the country due to the features on OH. Some are longtime friends and like life offline, some friendships just drift apart. Such is life.
