Top reasons I GAINED weight.

I'll be darned.  I stepped on the scale this morning and it read 303 lbs.. That's a GAIN of one pound from a week ago. It was a bit of a surprise since I am five weeks out from RNY and only averaging about 650 calories a day for the past two weeks.

Why?

6. I ate foods with higher sodium.. It's water weight!
5. I didn't poop enough.
4. I weighed myself AFTER breakfast.
3. I had a sore back and didn't exercise enough.
2. The little exercise I had, turned my fat into muscle.
1. It's just a mystery.

Thanks to this website.. I have read other accounts of people having stalls. So I'll just keep doing what I need to do. The weight will come off.

Dude chillax....you're a new post op, you'll lose no mater what (basically)at this stage of the game. Just keep on doing what you know to do.

Hey Herc.  Don't sweat it early.  Your body is going through a ton of changes and weight is being shifted around ... water, muscle, fat ... 

Some of us have stalls, some don't.  Some lose a ton early, others take 18-24 months to get it off.  The good news is that you're healthy (and getting healthier daily). 

After two months, I am no longer doing weight loss math all the time.  I just live my life.  Exercise, protein, water.  After awhile it will fade into the background of your regular life and you'll look up and you've lost weight again.
