Quality protein question?
If I can get the 80 grams of protein daily without protein powder or shakes, is that okay? I eat chicken, cottage cheese, cheese, chili, yogurt, tuna fish and shrimp. I'm about five weeks out from RNY.

My earlier post didn't go through. I would have at least one shake per day. Whey protein isolate is the protein that is absorbed the easiest of all protein (that is why they use it so much. You will have malabsorption, so to help save muscle mass over the next few months...I would continue to have some. If you can't stand your shake...write on your state board. See if someone can bring a sample of their favorite shake to the local support group meeting. I have done that before and it has really helped new people. Brian
