Went to a birthday party. . First Post op

Today the family celebrated my wife's birthday at a local restaurant.  The breaded zucchini appetizer looked good, but I didn't sample it. While others ordered pastas, and french fries and steak. I ordered crab meat in drawn butter.. but told them to hold the butter.  I ate about half of the crab there, chewing carefully, and took the rest home.

It's a far cry from just a few months ago when I could hardly wait until food was on the table. I would eat the bread and butter until it was gone. Then finish off the appetizer.  I also passed on the birthday cake, which I am told was very good.

I know someday I'll be able to eat a more varied menu.. But I'm not taking chances only four weeks after RNY.

By the way. I got my wife a Wii Fit Plus. She wanted one. 

I had a good time being with the family. I used to hate sitting at a restaurant table unless I was gorging myself.

Good job holding on to the wagon. A little trick I do is to take a protein shake with me to events. I've even had the bartender hold it on ice for me, then pour it out in a ****tail glass.

I've also found resturaunts to be very accomodating. Sometimes I have them chill a pint glass for me if I'm not wanting to eat off the menu. If I don't make a big deal out of it, nobody else does.

Events have become about the people, not the platter.
