Going to Buffalo
Well,
I got a call on tuesday that my Mom who has Alzheimers had been rushed to the hospital. She had an infection they couldn't control in the nursing home. They also did something called a "Swallow Test" that Mom failed. She cannot eat anymore. The doctors told my Dad that she will never get her ability to ewallow back, it is the progression of the alzheimers and parkinson's and that the only option was to either put in a feeding tube or just make her comfortable and let things take their course. My Mom is 86 and is in the advance stage of both Alzheimers and Parkinson's. Dad called all of us and we discussed the option. Mom was moved into hospice yesterday. Today I called Hospice and asked the doctor how long Mom had and he said if I wanted to see her before she passed I needed to get up there ASAP. We are leaving in the morning. Don't know how much I'll be able to get online up there.
