Fruit

I am two months out and have not yet ventured into the world of fruit.  When did you guys start making fruit a part of your diet?  I guess I am worried about the sugar.  I also don't really like canned or cooked fruit.  I know I could be having applesauce or bananas, but I'm just not craving it yet.  Thanks!

Fruits can be tricky.  I can eat fresh plums, grapes, watermelon, and well chewed apples.  I got into trouble early on with the sugar in the fruit and stayed away from them.  Just started testing the pouch again. They produce alot of gas.
Good luck

By two months I was eating bananas, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries.  I had no problems with them at all.  Stay away from citrus for awhile because of the acidity.  When you do start eating apples watch out for the peel.  It can be bad for your pouch early on.

Don't go hog wild...but a small amount can be helpful.  Bananas, raisin, and oranges have potassium.  Try to have some everyday in small amounts.  I look for the fruit that has a lot of bang for the buck when it comes to nut.  A small amount of apple can be good also.  All of these supplement after the protein and a small amount of vegetables are eaten first.  Brian

At two months out, I was still on soft food with our program and we were told to avoid any fruit with a skin that you ate.   I tolerated most other soft fruits fairly well as long as it was in small amounts.

I'm not sure why, but my personal "dumping sensitivity" seems to correlate more with the glycemic index than it does the actual calories or the sugar.   Now, I can eat 10-15 cherries with no problem but can only have a few bytes of watermelon.
