I didn't have a foley nor a drainage tube.  Neither did my wife.

The one I had was removed before I got out of surgery.   Due to troubles draining the main thing I had to twice have a "quickie" catheter put in to drain my bladder before I got to come home. I never knew an itty bitty tube could feel so good being shoved into my willy!  First time it was done I filled a 1000cc bag!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

I had one during my RNY Lap 12 days ago. To tell you the truth. I didn't know it was even there.  UNTIL.. they became concerned 2 days later about my infrequent urination and re-inserted it at one o'clock in the morning.  Not fun.. But not as bad as I had imagined.  It was out again soon after. I know some people have had to wear one home.

I had lap band in 2004 had no cath, had it removed July 16 no cath. I was sleeved on Sept. 24 when i woke up from surgery i had a cath. I did have some problems so I don'T know if that is why they put it in. It stayed about a day It was really not bad

It depends on the surgeon. I had mine put in during surgery and they removed it before I went home three days later. I never realized it was there until I had to walk with it. It was more the tape that hurt more than the actual catheter. When they took it out. It didn't really hurt, it just felt like I was peeing all over myself.

I was first told I wouldn't have one,  then was told they had changed their policy and they did it to every one. When I woke up didn't have one. I was not disappointed.
