Wow.. In one week... I have gone from sleeping 12 hours per day.. to a normal eight hours sleep.. And now... after one hour's sleep, I'm wide awake since midnight at it's now after 4 AM?  And I don't even feel a bit tired. What's the deal?

Not sure why it happens, but it happened to me a few weeks after surgery. It does pass and I did not take anything. Like you I went from sleeping most of the day to regular sleep, to 1-2 hours sleep than up til 6. I was lucky and was able to take 6 weeks off and my sleep patterns got back to normal before I had to go back to work.

This too shall pass

Part of it may be the continued purging of the anesthetic from your system, although I don't know how long that really takes (Duane, any ideas?) ... part may be that you are doing a better job of adjusting to the restricted calories.  I think the low intake kept me snoozing in the early stages.  Each week will get better!
