Full disclosure - larger waist

8 days after RNY I have temporarily gone back to my old size 54 inch waist slacks. The size 52's put too much pressure on my belly button when I sit down. The discomfort isn't from the RNY incisions. . but Doc Schauer also patched up a hernia while he was in there.

Minor setback.  Soon everything will heal and you will be rocking the loser's bench.

Take care,

"This weightloss stuff will happen to these other guys...I'm a different puppy"...Just wait dude.  Do some easy movements...No pounding or lifting.  Do things like light streching or easy dance movements (in the house...don't want to disturb the neighbors).  Your weight will come off...and will come off fast.
Right now you're in the climbing the walls stage.  Next will come the "what have I done to myself" stage.  Soon you'll be in the scale whoore stage...On that thing 4-8 times a day.  Then will come things like hopping out of bed (not 5 seconds rolling out) or springing up to get the phone while in a chair...Or taking 1/2 second to get up off the floor...Yes, you did heard me right...1/2 a second!!  Your body is holding on to the weight...It thinks you're staving it...It will have to release it very soon...Then watch out.  Brian   PS  Don't want to glorify what I wrote above.  You started out higher and am older than many men here.  You probably will carry more skin than many guys.  But everything will become so much easier in a few months...watch and see.

The Isrealites hadnt even crossed the Red Sea yet at 8 days. By Christmas time you'll be looking at those 52"s and wondering how the hell you were ever that big.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.

Start planning on bagging up those 55's-52's for AMVETS.  You'll be at the Goodwill store looking for 38's b4 long thats a promise.  Besides you're to new to worry about weight loss.  It will come off whether you like it or not.  For the first 4-5 mos you cant stop it.
You may have fluids and gas.  Buy a web belt soon
Good luck

Thanks guys. And way ahead of you on the Web Belt idea. In fact. I am on my third belt since staring the whole processs. The belts are the only peice of clothing I have kept as "evidence" of where I once was.
I buy the same model and brand for comparison.

My largest belt goes up to a 74 inch waist.

I kept a pair of pants and shirt to be my reminder.  Everything else was packed up and brought to church for the rummage sale that starts tomorrow.  There is an entire 8' table filled with three sizes of shirts that I brought!  Plus a couple of suits, a blue blazer, three winter coats (including a two-year-old leather overcoat that my wife gave me for Christmas), lightweight jackets, and slacks/jeans/shorts ranging from 50 to 44 waist.  I bought a pair of khakis over the weekend, and they are 40" waist.

What is not in the rummage sale -- clerical shirts/collars and an alb that is just too doggone big.  I'll check with clergy friends or else have some halloween costumes avaialble for rent!

Onward and DOWNward,
