so im probably going to have the Sleeve PrOcedure done, im paying out of pocket in MI with Dr Pleatman. Im pretty sure i can have this surgery done sometime in October.
MY question is If I got this done in October do you think I would be Ok to goto Disney the week of Thanksgiving....
Based on you experience, would you do it before, or wait...

I am still waiting for my surgery but.... We were told if we were going to have a laparoscopic type done it would be two weeks out of work and then depending on your job would determine when you could resume work or other activities. Open is about 3-4 weeks and I would think it would be a while before you would feel like doing much. When I had colon surgery I hurt for a good month and then two before I felt normal.

I was a security guard when I had my RNY done.  Came back after 3 weeks and it nearly killed me.  I had to walk 3-5 miles a shift...Almost like walking a Disneyland/World theme park.  You will be lighter if you go post op...which helps with the walking.  But during some of my weightloss I was losing 1 1/2 pounds a day...It really was taking it out of me...I would try and grab for energy and it just was not there.  Also be aware of the signs of dehydration...#1 reason people reenter the hospital post WLS.  Soooo, it can be done, but pace yourself and know your bodies signals.  Brian

I had RNY on a Tuesday and drove Ski boat at Show Ski Nationals on that Sunday.  We are all different.  The main problem you will have is making sure you plan all of your meals beforehand and have plenty of water.  4 weeks to Disney should be physically doable.

That said, If this is a family trip my advice would be to save the money until you have lost some major weight and then you and your family will really have a trip to remember because you will all have a better time.  Going to disney and worrying about your health VS going to Disney and being able to go on all the rides and walk all day with your family is a no brainer.  I would put the trip off until easter break if it were me.

I totally agree with this. Just because you might be ABLE to go to Disney doesn't mean it is the best time. If you can change it to a later date, personally, I would.
