Flying tomorrow

Hi guys,

So tomorrow I am getting on my first airplane since having my surgery.  I am heading out to Pittsburgh for both the birth of my nephew and for the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah.  As us big guys know, flying is not a lot of fun, and has not been a lot of fun for me in the past.  There was alwyas the dreaded request for the seatbelt extension, and the shame and embarrassment that followed.

Well, I am down 50+ pounds and now weigh under 300 lbs., so I am really hoping that I do not need the seatbelt extension tomorrow (Could be another wow moment for me!).  So wish me luck and I'll let you know how everything goes...

Have fun on your trip.  I used to fly when I was starting out in the IT field.  At that time I was a big guy, but just barely fit the seat belt.  Now, i would need an extension.

Post-Op FART on an airplane....Would that constitute the air marshall forcing the plane down?

I hope you get that WOW moment. Or as the guys on this forum say...a F.A.R.T. moment.

Hey.  Good luck on the plane.  I flew in August after having surgery in March and was amazed.  I had lost about 90 pounds and was so looking forward to the first time I flew and did not feel uncomfortable.  It was so nice not having to put the armrest up so I could fit between.  I actually was not intruding on the lady's space next to me.  What a WOW moment!  I am now over 105 pounds lost and look forward to shopping for new clothes (pant size 36 regular from a 44 relaxed, shirt from a 3X to XL and about ready to try Large.)  DOUBLE WOW!  It just keeps getting more and more fun.  Good luck on the flight and you will be amazed how much better it feels.

No "wow"s or "double wow"s.  This is the Men's board.  Here we FART's!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Remind me again.  What does F.A.R.T. stand for?

I am going from memory here, but I believe it is Fabulous, Awesome, Radical, Terrific.

I flew yesterday for the first time post-op.  What a delight to not have to think about whether or not I would need an extension.  And the tray came down without resting on my belly.  It's still a little cramped to get out my oversized laptop and get some work done, but we're getting there.

Getting the tray down is my next goal.  But I've got a ways to go to get there.  Thank you all for your support and encouragement.  You all rock!!!

I flew to Buffalo in August foe a family reunion and it was great not having to get a belt extension!! What a great feeling to be able to sit down and buckle your seat belt with room to spare!!!!

I'm sure you won't need one!!!
