3 Month Program
So My surgeon and insurance have an option for a more intense 3 month supervised program or the standard 6 month. Of course I opted for the 3 month. I was able to get my first appointment for it this past monday. Most of what I was said I already knew "smaller portions", but I was suprised by some of the information. The diet they put me on is only about 200 cls less than what I have been doing the past month and off and on the past couple years. I was given some foods back such as breads and pasta which I avoid at all costs. They said my muscle mass was fairly decent so I should be able to handle and recover from the surgery pretty well.
They should submit for approval in December doctor figures surgery date will probably be in mid Feb.
One more step completed!

Since you've tried to avoid bread and pasta at all costs, you may be aware oa an addiction to sugar and refined white flour. If that is the case, you can use whole wheat bread and whole wheat pasta. On the whole wheat bread, read the label to ensure that you are truly getting whole wheat bread. Dx E has pointed out several times that some companies call their bread whole wheat when it is really refined white bread enriched with whole wheat. I use Peperidge Farms light whole wheat which, depending on the packaging is either 45 cal per slice or 140 cal for 3 slices. I don't know if it's just a matter of different bakeries making the bread for different stores. It's thinner than regular bread but it works fine. My wife has also found round whole wheat flat rolls that are much thinner than regular hamburger rolls. You can also use rye bread and pumpernickle bread.
When I do it bread it is either Whole Wheat or Multi Grain, pasta is always whole wheat I think it has a better flavor and holds the sauce more. The reason I have avoided them is I have done a diet plan where the only grain you have is Brown rice for almost a couple months. It was the lack of eating on that plan that had me avoiding them. That plan did have one benefit which is the smell of fried food typically make me nauseous so we all avoid that as well.
I don't think I really have a sugar addicition as I am not a big sweet eater. My problem is I like the taste of food and being the size I currently am getting full means portions larger than I should have.
This 3 month program has me eating a more balanced meal. For example at work breakfast would be 1 scrambled egg, on this dietary plan I have to have carbs with breakfast so I have toast or half a biscuit. I just need to reduce the portions more, if anything I am a meat addict nothing is better than a good steak.
